La Vida del Papel

"It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera. They are made with the eye, heart and head." Henri Cartier-Bresson

During the Covid pandemic, I saw the extraordinary in the ordinary and visualized it in my photo art series "La Vida del Papel" - an ode to paper, a tribute to the irretrievable and, above all, a visual documentation of the historic entertainment crash. For nearly two years the bright and flashing lights of the entertainment industry went out, the constantly vibrating dance floors stood still, and the microphones went silent. The walls that used to be plastered with event posters, slowly changed into a memorial of what life used to be before the pandemic hit. Weathered remnants of posters on the walls of buildings, demolitions that overlapped and became impressive contemporary art. The quiet beauty amidst the angry Covid 19 beast.

The charm of the ,La Vida del Papel’ series is the fusion of its authenticity and modern art spirit while documenting a historical time frame. These artful discoveries  are no longer available in the initial locations and thus not reproducible.
